Are you ready for a bigger challenge? We are now looking for a project leader to join our team based in Stockholm. The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees across the country. The primary task of the IT department is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority.
The IT department plays a crucial role in crime prevention and law enforcement, and IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining police work and enhancing the quality of police operations. The IT department develops and modernizes the police's IT, and the authority invests significantly in strengthening the department with new specialist skills and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police service.
Operational business systems are responsible for providing IT support for operational activities, primarily for police officers in the field. The resource planning system, for which we are seeking a project leader, is responsible for ensuring that our resource planning system functions effectively. We have an incredibly important mission to support operational activities while a significant modernization effort of the system is underway.
Job Description
As a project leader within the IT department of the Police Authority, you will lead the project forward. You will be part of a cross-functional development team responsible for a resource planning IT system. We are currently in an expansion phase with several ongoing projects for our in-house developed system. The role may involve collaboration with various teams and operations.
Some examples of job tasks:
- Lead, coach, and support one of the development teams in their daily work
- Develop plans for assignments and follow up on them
- Collaborate with different parts of the organization to drive the work forward and understand future needs
- Communicate the implementation of new features with the organization
- Serve as the point of contact between the team and other IT teams as needed
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant academic education in IT or another relevant post-secondary education, or equivalent professional experience
- Extensive recent experience leading projects/assignments and teams within IT towards set goals and results deemed relevant by the employer for the position
- Documented recent experience working as a leader in agile projects or assignments
- Documented recent experience facilitating workshops
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
The position requires Swedish citizenship.

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and has the ability to independently and systematically drive their assignments forward. Since the role involves many points of contact, we see it as essential that you collaborate and communicate smoothly and pedagogically with both close colleagues and the rest of the organization to achieve common goals. The role also requires good leadership skills and flexibility.
